Ilias Bantekas is a Professor of International Law and Arbitration at Hamad bin Khalifa University (a member of Qatar Foundation) College of Law. He has held posts at Brunel, Harvard, SOAS, Miami, Cleveland-State, Trier and elsewhere. He regularly consults governments and international organisations on international law, human rights and development and acts as arbitrator in international commercial disputes. He was a senior member of the Greek Debt Truth Committee and in 2011 he was nominated by UNDP to co-draft the constitution of South Sudan.
