Legal Education

The Institute is committed to promoting and supporting the advancement of legal education as an area of research in its own right. Understanding the role of law, legal education, and different approaches to the teaching of law is increasingly important in contemporary society. We are keen to promote evidence-led teaching and research in legal education. 

The Institute hosts regular events organised through the Legal Education Research Network (LERN).

The former Director of IALS, Professor Avrom Sherr, held the first Woolf Chair in Legal Education.
